Introduction:
Senior Lecturer, Department of Limnology and Water Technology, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka.She is a lecturer and researcher in Limnology and Environmental microbiology. She completed a PhD in 2022 at the Department of hydrology and water resource management, University of Kiel, Germany. Her PhD project was related to ‘Impacts of multiple stressors on algal communities in freshwater ecosystems in rural areas’. In 2017, she completed her MSc in Applied Ecology which was the Erasmus Mundus joint degree awarded by University of Poitiers, France; University of Kiel, Germany and University of Coimbra, Portugal. She was awarded DAAD and Erasmus Mundus scholarships for her higher studies. Her main research interests are included Limnology, Environmental microbiology, Climate change impacts on freshwater ecosystems and management and conservation of aquatic systems. She published her work in reputed journals like Biological reviews, STOTEN, Ecotoxicology and Environmental safety, Aquatic Botany and Hydrobiologia and has about 300 citations from 2021. Currently, she is continuing teaching and research while actively involve in establishing international research collaborations.
