Engineering of Disaster Prevention, Reduction and Protection is a master program of secondary-level discipline under first-level discipline’s master program in Civil Engineering approved in 2011. Relying on provincial key major, first-class and key discipline of civil engineering, it owns the advanced testers and machines such as static and dynamic test instruments for bridge, MTS multidirectional loading test system, high-frequency fatigue tester, multi-function fire testing furnace, full-automatic concrete sulfate dry-and-wet cycle test equipment and carbonization box. Its relevant laboratory is Ningbo municipal key laboratory, of superior experimental condition.
Now the master program is mainly in four directions: (1) structural disaster resistance study and damage identification; (2) vibration control and noise prevention of engineering structure; (3) civil engineering materials and the durability; (4) disaster prevention and reduction in urban construction. On the basis of the above research directions, the theoretical, computational and experimental research work has been carried out in combination with the frontier of the subject and the practice of engineering. Over the past five years, dozens of government-funded and enterprise-funded projects have been undertaken such as the National Natural Science Foundation; more than 200 academic theses and ten monographs as “Structural Theory and Calculation Method of Urban Viaducts”, “Civil Engineering Materials” have been published. In this group, there are six professors, five associate professors and sixteen PhDs.
Prof. Liu Junzhe, PhD supervisor, is in charge of the master program and normally serves as the PhD supervisor of Northeast Forestry University and CAS Ningbo Institute of Materials, and standing director of eight national divisions and specialized committees such as Concrete Durability Specialized Committee of the Civil Engineering Society, in research of durability of concrete structure. He got more than eighty papers published, eight patents for invention authorized and six books edited in chief.
Prof. Yan Wei (doctorate awarded by Zhejiang University), Prof. Ding Yong (doctorate awarded by Tsinghua University), Prof. Li Yushun (doctorate awarded by Harbin Institute of Technology, PhD supervisor), Prof. Li Junhua (doctorate awarded by Xi'an University of Architecture And Technology, PhD supervisor), Prof. Zhu Huibing (doctorate awarded by Shanghai University), Prof. Wang Wanzhen (doctorate awarded by Xi'an University Of Architecture And Technology) and others are academic figures in the group.
