081402 Structural Engineering
Structural Engineering is a master program approved by Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council in 2006 and now is the master program of secondary-level discipline under first-level discipline’s master program in Civil Engineering. Relying on provincial key major, first-class and key discipline of civil engineering, it has superior experimental conditions and owns the advanced testers and machines such as MTS multidirectional loading test system, long-cylinder tester, high frequency fatigue tester and multi-function fire testing furnace etc. Its relevant laboratory is Ningbo municipal key laboratory of structural engineering.
Now the master program is mainly in four directions: (1) steel structure; (2) concrete structure; (3) composite structure; (4) bridge structure. The research focuses on design, computational theory and experiments of steel structure, composite structure and new type of structure. Its contents involve many frontier problems in the discipline of structural engineering and the design of structural fire resistance. Over the past five years, the master program undertook more than 30 projects of all sorts, including eight projects of Natural and Science Foundation of China and sixteen provincial projects. More than two hundred journal papers have been published, including over sixty articles indexed by SCI/EI/ISTP. Currently there are more than thirty postgraduates have been cultivated and a number of monographs and textbooks such as “Design of Steel Structure” and “Computational Structural Mechanics and Programing” have been published. In this group, there are eight professors, twelve associate professors and eighteen PhDs.
Prof. Wang Xintang , PhD supervisor, is in charge of the master program and normally serves as director of Steel Structure Academic Committee of Ningbo Civil Construction Association, member of Steel Structure Expert Committee of China Construction Metal Structure Association, executive director of Stability and Fatigue Branch of China Steel Structure Association, deputy director of Steel Structure Teaching Committee, discipline leader of the young and the middle-aged of Zhejiang Province’s universities, cultivating object as Ningbo municipal university master, first level candidate of Ningbo “4321 Talent Project”, director of Ningbo Key Laboratory of Structural Engineering and editorial board member of the Journal of Spatial Structure, etc.
Prof. Li Yushun, PhD supervisor and academic foregoer, now serves as director of Steel-Concrete Composite Structure Branch and Building Construction Steel Structure Branch of China Steel Structure Association, member of Timber Structure Specialized Committee of China Architectural Association, and discipline leader of the young and the middle-aged of Zhejiang Province’s universities. Currently she is engaged in the study of steel structure and composite structure.
Prof. Ding Yong, the academic backbone, is engaged in the study of bridge structure and fire resistance theory. Prof. Wang Wanzhen researches on fatigue and fracture of steel structure. Prof. Li Junhua is concerned with seismic and fire resistance of composite structure. Prof. Yan Wei engages in structural health monitoring and related basic theory research.
