Institute of Engineering Management and Intelligent Construction
The Institute of Engineering Management and Intelligent Construction was established in 2023, affiliated to the School of Civil & Environmental Engineering and Geography Science. It serves as a dedicated organization within the civil engineering discipline, focusing on teaching, research, and social services related to engineering management and intelligent construction. The research institute currently has 11 full-time teachers, including 1 professor, 2 associate professors, 1 associate researcher, and 6 lecturers. The main research directions of the institute are sustainable construction management, project management and informatization, intelligent design and construction, low-carbon buildings and sustainable development, real estate evaluation and development, etc.
The institute is a newly established research institute in the context of intelligent, information-based, green and low-carbon development of civil engineering. It relies on the modules of engineering management and intelligent construction in the field of civil engineering, and has good development prospects in talent cultivation and scientific research innovation. In recent years, we have undertaken more than 10 scientific research projects at or above the provincial and ministerial level, published nearly 200 high-level academic papers in domestic and foreign journals, and published more than 10 textbooks and monographs. The relevant achievements have won the Third Prize of National Excellent Urban and Rural Planning and Design Award, one Second Prize of Zhejiang Province, and one Third Prize of Science and Technology Award of Zhejiang Province. One faculty member has been awarded the title of "The Most Beautiful Mentor" by Ningbo University; another has been honored as the "Most Popular Professor" among students. Our faculty members have guided students to win the First Prize in the Digital Architecture Reality-Virtuality Integration Job Simulation Competition, the First Prize in the BIM Construction Management Sand Table and Software Application Competition, the Second Prize in the BIM Full-Process Cost Management Team Competition, and the Second Prize in the National College Students' Structural Design Information Technology Contest, among others. The institute also actively participates in local social services and achievement transformation work, undertaking over 300 scientific research projects commissioned by local governments and enterprises. Many members serve as project supervisors, with rich project practical experience.
