081403 Municipal Engineering
Municipal Engineering is the master program of secondary-level discipline under first-level discipline’s master program in Civil Engineering that is the provincial key major, first-class and municipal key discipline. Major of Municipal Engineering is of strong scientific research strength, good teacher’s echelon and superior experimental condition. Its laboratory area is about 1,500 m2 with instruments and equipment which cost 10 billion Yuan and just in the recent 3 years, the newly cost of advanced experimental instruments has risen to 7 billion Yuan.
Now the master program is mainly in four directions: (1) supply and drainage engineering; (2) municipal solid waste treatment; (3) urban road traffic engineering and traffic flow theory; (4) construction environment and equipment. Over the past five years, dozens of government-funded projects have been undertaken such as the National Natural Science Foundation, Provincial Natural Science Fund and other provincial key technology projects; more than one hundred and ten papers have been published in SCI/EI indexed journals and core journals, and more than ten patents for invention have been authorized. In this group, there are two professors, nine associate professors and seventeen PhDs.
Associate Prof. Lv Wenzhou (doctorate awarded by CAS Center for Ecological Environment Research), visiting scholar to University of California, Irvine and cultivating object as third-level of Zhejiang Provincial “New-century 151 Talents” Project, in charge of the master program, normally serves as the member of the microbiological ecological specialized committee of China Ecology Society. He took charge of many government-fund projects of nation, province and city, and a number of research results have been approved by government and enterprises, put into practical application. He published twenty papers indexed by SCI/EI and other core journals. Now he’s mainly engaged in study of biological treatment of high concentration organic wastewater, utilization of waste resources and sludge reduction in urban sewage plant.
